About
Who We Are
Puglia offers Big portions of Italian basics served up in a throwback space lined with murals & memorabilia in Little Italy, NYC. The name “Puglia” is the region in Southern Italy where founder Gregorio Garofalo immigrated from in 1919.
People came from far to indulge in the delicacies Gregorio prepared; Capuzzello (sheepshead), Tripe (the lining of the stomach of a young ox) and Pasta E Fagioli (pasta and beans), but what they loved the most was the way he treated everyone like his own family.
Today, his grandson Joe Garofalo still serving these delicacies and treating everyone like family in the original location on Hester Street.
